Clay Regazzoni

Clay Regazzoni had a reputation as a tough guy back in the day when most GP drivers had to be more hardened than their modern counterparts, he sadly past away on the way to a motorshaow in 2006. To many he was and still is a hero and his style which combined bravado, professionalism and playboy seems unlikely to be repeated in the world of GP racing. He is featured in the 1974 Heuer brochure wearing the Heuer Silverstone and this as well as an outstanding 1970s design has led many to favour the vintage Silverstone as their watch of choice. Great watches from this period are often tied into iconic figures and this like the Monaco and Carrera from the Heuer stable provide ample proof of this. Regazzoni' career bought 5 GP wins most notably with Ferrari and laterly in the 1979 Silverstone GP where he was responsible for Williams' first GP victory...
